HEC International Signs 590MW Combined Cycle Power Plant Project in Bangladesh

On June 5, 18:00 local time, HEC International and United Group signed the EP contract of Bangladesh Anwara 590MW combined cycle power plant project in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Li Chao, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of HEC International, and Moinuddin Rashid, Chairman of United Group of Bangladesh, signed the contract on behalf of both parties.

The Anwara 590MW combined cycle power plant project adopts Siemens H-class combustion turbine with one-tow single shaft arrangement and is located in Anwara area of Chittagong, Bangladesh, on the south bank of the Kanapuri River.

The owner, Bangladesh United Group, is a large local private enterprise, mainly engaged in power, real estate, medical, retail, textile and other businesses. Anwara project is the first cooperation between HEC International and Bangladesh United Group, and also the first power plant contracting project for HEC International to successfully enter the private power sector in Bangladesh market. After the completion of the project, it will further relieve the pressure of power shortage in Bangladesh and promote the power development of Bangladesh.
