Egypt, Jordan Kaites PV projects complete delivery

On June 8, Asia-Africa Green Energy Investment Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Three Gorges International, successfully completed the delivery of the Catalyst photovoltaic projects in Egypt and Jordan. This is another investment of Three Gorges Group in the MENA clean energy market after the Alcazar project delivery in August 2021, and Three Gorges Group is actively involved in local clean energy development and making unremitting efforts to promote the building of a community of human destiny.

The Kaites project has a total installed capacity of 109 MW, all of which are PV plants in operation, including: one plant in Egypt with 65 MW installed capacity and four plants in Jordan with 44 MW installed capacity. The annual power generation capacity of the project is 230 million kWh, which can meet the annual electricity consumption of about 30,000 households in Egypt and Jordan based on the per capita electricity consumption in 2022, and is expected to save about 77,000 tons of standard coal per year.

80% of the assets of the Kaites project are in close proximity to the Alcazar project, which is conducive to the synergy effect of Three Gorges Group in the region in the future, reducing O&M costs and improving the operational efficiency and operational benefits of the assets through resource integration. Three Gorges Group operates and manages a total of 12 clean energy power plants in Egypt and Jordan, with a total installed capacity of 520 MW, including 10 photovoltaic plants and 2 wind farms.
