On May 23, 2023, China-Brazil PV industry exchange seminar was successfully held in Shanghai. With the theme of “Expanding Sino-Brazilian cooperation in the field of photovoltaics and jointly promoting green development”, the seminar aimed to strengthen the interconnection between China and Brazil’s photovoltaic industry and pragmatically promote cooperation between the two industries. Mr. Yang Xudong, Deputy Director General of the Department of Electronic Information of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Mr. Luo Feng, Deputy Director of the International Economic and Technical Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Mr. Augusto Pestana, Consul General of Brazil in Shanghai, and Mr. Rodrigo Rollemberg, Deputy Minister of Green Economy, Decarbonization and Bioindustry of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Brazil, attended the conference and delivered speeches.

The Chinese participants pointed out that, as the global response to climate change accelerates, the evolution of “electrification of energy consumption, low-carbon electricity production and informatization of production and consumption” is accelerating, and it has become a global consensus to accelerate the application of new energy and promote green and sustainable development of economy and society. China’s photovoltaic industry is a global leader and will continue to maintain good momentum in 2022. Brazil is an important country in Latin America and a major participant in the BRICS platform. China and Brazil have a good basis for cooperation and have been making progress in the field of PV cooperation, and it is in the common interest of both countries to pragmatically promote cooperation between China and Brazil in the PV industry.

The Brazilian participants said that Brazil is one of the world’s most rapidly developing countries in the PV industry and will continue to be committed to promoting the development of the PV industry in the future. 2023 In April, Brazilian President Lula was invited to visit China and achieved fruitful results, Brazil and China jointly released the Joint Statement on Deepening Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, Brazil and China will start extensive cooperation in the energy sector, and the PV field is expected to The photovoltaic sector is expected to become an important area of cooperation between Brazil and China.

Both Chinese and Brazilian participants emphasized that both countries are responsible carbon reduction countries and have made unremitting efforts to promote global emission reduction, and there is a wide prospect for future cooperation in the field of photovoltaics. The establishment of a long-term exchange mechanism between China and Brazil in the photovoltaic industry can better address climate change, help promote the green development of both countries to a new level, and help the global energy transition.

During the conference, the International Center for Economic and Technical Cooperation of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the China Photovoltaic Industry Association and the Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association signed a tripartite cooperation memorandum, marking a new stage of exchange and cooperation between China and Brazil in the field of photovoltaics, and opening a new chapter of interconnection, mutual benefit and win-win cooperation between China and Brazil in the field of photovoltaics.

The seminar was co-organized by the International Center for Economic and Technical Cooperation of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China Photovoltaic Industry Association and Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association, and attracted more than 80 enterprises and research institutions such as CEC International Engineering Company, JinkoSolar, AT&S Solar Power Group, Lula Institute of Brazil, Vale do Rio Doce, Nan-sen of Brazil, etc. The conference was attended by more than 80 companies and research institutes, including CEC International Engineering Co.
