Pakistan Jihang 1263 MW combined cycle power plant fully completed and put into operation

On June 17, local time, the turbine of Pakistan Jihang 1263 MW combined cycle power plant, designed by China Energy Construction Zhejiang Institute, constructed by Jiangsu Electric Construction Company, and commissioned by East China Power Testing and Research Institute, a subsidiary of Science and Technology Company, passed 168 hours of full-load reliability operation, marking the full completion and commissioning of Pakistan Jihang 1263 MW combined cycle power plant.

The project is the first air-cooled H-class combustion turbine power plant project constructed by a central enterprise overseas. The project has built one set of SCC5-8000 combined units, including two sets of SGT5-8000H gas turbine generators, two sets of natural circulation horizontal waste heat boilers and one set of pure condensing steam turbine generators. The whole set of units can operate either in single cycle or combined cycle, with a total installed capacity of 1,263 MW, and its net efficiency of combined cycle power generation exceeds 62%.

Upon completion of the project, the power generation capacity will be able to meet the electricity demand of nearly 4 million local households, greatly alleviating the tight electricity supply situation of enterprises and the surrounding area, and helping the local economic development.
