Abstract:
For improving the understanding of design structure of high current earthing switch and enhancing the design reliability, the design of earthing switch for a complete set of generator circuit breaker is studied. The earthing switch is small in size, and its peak and short-time withstand current type tests are severe. The design of the earthing switch meeting short-time withstand current of 130 kA（3 s） and peak withstand current of 390 kA is completed by combination of empirical formula and simulation analysis. The rationality and reliability of the design are verified by peak and short-time withstand current type tests.
